Salary: Up to £99,000

In this new role reporting to and working closely with our new Chief Executive, Shokat Lal, you will bring a clear focus on improving outcomes for our community and lead the team driving change and improvement set out by our commissioners and Members.
Designed to add strategic capacity and bring together key functions of the Council that drive improvement and change our new Assistant Chief Executive will lead and contribute to key political priorities including customer journey, thriving neighbourhoods and partnerships, tackling poverty, responding to decarbonisation, and developing an inclusive Sandwell economy.
Leading on a number of cross cutting priorities you will drive improvement in our customer services, embed the changes to ways of working made through the council’s improvement plan, and take forward a new performance management framework. You will help steer the organisational development strategy to set the council up to deliver on our ambitions, and design a new neighbourhood working model.
The role is responsible for the following services: Corporate Improvement and Performance management; Policy, Strategy and Research; Communication and Marketing; Customer Services; Equalities, Diversity and Inclusion; HR and Organisational Development; Investigations & Voluntary and Community Sector.
